Product Description
Surround by Laminex® MR MDF is designed for interior area applications and is manufactured from Moisture Resistant (MR), Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF).
Each panel has one face routered with a regular decorative pattern which is pre-primed with water-based paint.
Panels connect together using a simple tongue and groove system.
The majority of Surround by Laminex® MR MDF panels are12mm thick. One profile(Classic VJ 100) is 9mm thick.
All 12mm panels have a reverse flat face sealed with a white Low-Pressure Melamine(LPM). 9mm panels has a raw MDF reverse flat face.
Surround by Laminex® MR MDF is available in two sheet sizes (dimensions in mm)
2400(h) x 1200(w) x 12mm: 9.2kg/m2 - 26.5kg
3000(h) x 1200(w) x 12mm 9.2kg/m2 - 33.1kg
2400(h) x 1200(w) x 9mm 6.9kg/m2 - 19.9kg
3000(h) x 1200(w) x 9mm 6.9kg/m2 - 24.9kg
Surround by Laminex® MR MDF profiles run parallel with the height of the sheet (i.e. with the length of the 2400(h)and 3000(h) direction.
Surround by Laminex FR MDF is also available on indent, this product is made to order, minimum order quantity and lead time apply.
Scope of use
Surround by Laminex® MR MDF panels must be installed in accordance with the Surround by Laminex® Fabrication and Installation Manual. This manual has been developed to allow designers, fabricators, installers and DIYers who work with Surround by Laminex to achieve performance standards for both domestic and commercial applications. Surround by Laminex® MR MDF panels can be fixed directly to timber or steel framing, and to various substrates, including plasterboard, using a combination of adhesive and mechanical fasteners.
Surround by Laminex® MR MDF panels have a regular decorative pattern pre-primed face. Panels can be finished with a light sanding, and a minimum of two topcoats of a compatible paint in line with paint manufacturer’s guidelines.
Surround by Laminex® MR MDF panels have a Fire Material Group Number of 3.
New Zealand Building Code (NZBC)
The product will, if employed in accordance with the supplier's installation and maintenance requirements, assist with meeting the following provisions of the building code:

MDF Manufactured in Australia | PEFC & Global GreenTagCert™Certified.
Surround by Laminex panels are made in Australia using moisture resistant Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF). Using wood fibres from PEFC forests, this product is PEFC-certified. PEFC forests are managed in line with the strictest environmental, social and economic requirements. Additionally, panels hold a Global GreenTag GreenRate™ certification to a Level A standard. Note: PEFC and Global GreenTag certification only applies to MR MDF product.
